Do you know that contact with water, some seeds (basil, camelina, chia, cress ...) develop a gelatinous substance called "mucilage"?
These seeds can not germinate in conventional hotbeds. They must be sown flat in a germination dish.

Indicative germination time:
- - Basil: 18 to 20 days
- - Camelina: 7 to 9 days
- - Chia 7 to 9 days
- - Watercress: 10 to 12 days
- - Lin: 7 to 9 days
- - Mustard: 6 to 8 days
- - Perilla: 8 to 10 days
- - Roquette: 9 to 11 days
- Soak 1 teaspoon of seeds in a glass of water for 15 minutes.
- Spread seeds in a thin layer so as to completely cover the grid while minimizing the seeds are superimposed.
- Fill the cup with water to 4-5 mm from the edge and remove the grid so that it floats.
- Moisten the seeds once a day using a fogger nozzle.
- Think renew the water of the cup as soon as it takes a light brown (about every 2 days).
